We have tried to take the guess work out of finding the best FREE high quality Spanish language websites on the internet that you can use to help you on your quest to become fluent.  There are thousands of Spanish websites out there and this list is by no means all inclusive, but it does cover some of the best Spanish sites that we have found to date.    

How to use this Page to Learn Spanish Online 

1.    Decide how much time you can set aside todos los dias (every day) for studying the Spanish language, reading up on the culture, or for just plain old fun & socializing.

Visual Learning Style

 

If you prefer using images, pictures, colors, and such to organize information, study, and learn Spanish, then this is your style. Check out these sites below.

This website tops our best Spanish website list in terms of its entertainment and educational value. It’s a must see. 

o    BBC Spanish

This website is one of our favorites (next to our own of course) because it has something for everyone at every level and every style. 

o    Flash pronunciation mini lessons

We categorized this website as visual although there is an audio component to the flash card demos. This website covers several areas via onscreen and downloadable/printable items that can be used for study aids.  It’s perfect for beginners of Spanish or a refresher course. 

o    Spanish Proficiency Exercises

      This website from the University of Texas at Austin contains video clips by native Spanish speakers from various Latin American countries and Spain.  All levels of Spanish are supported here. The videos give you an idea of the different dialects used throughout the region. 

o    LoMas TV

We like this website because it offers videos by native Spanish speakers.  If you are unable to follow along just yet, there’s even transcripts and slow play.  GREAT. They also offer some sample videos for you try out their video content with a demo from Shakira.  What more could we ask for? 

o    Lingus TV

Ligus.TV uses situation comedy and action videos to help engage students of all levels.  The videos are free to watch.  Enjoy! 

Social Learning Style 

If you typically prefer learning Spanish in groups or classes, or you like to spend much one-on-one time with a teacher or an instructor then these sites may be for you.

This blog covers a range of topics from types of hair to geography.  If you are looking to connect with other Spanish enthusiasts then you we think you will enjoy this site.  We like the authors style and think you may too. 

o    LingQ

While this website supports more than just the Spanish language you can benefit from this online community.  The premise is that you need to be exposed to the language ‘all the time’ to effectively learn it.  We agree as this is right in line with the theory of a ‘good learner’. 

Physical Learning Style

We expect that this area will have some possible information but online this is a difficult task to accomplish. If you learn from a physical style you learn through using your body and sense of touch to learn about the world around you.  In cyberspace this could prove to be a challenge but if you know of an online site where this is possible, do share, but keep it PG. 

Aural Learning Style

Audiria is more than just audio files.  It contains exercises and activities to help with your comprehension and even allows registered users of the site can track their progress.  Have a look.
